Roger Simpson is an extraordinary watercolour artist, from the age of around ten years old all he wanted to do was to draw and paint, he's dabbled with oils and pastel for a number of years but in the last six years he's being painting with watercolours and has found that they are the perfect medium for the way he paints. They fit me perfectly says Roger in that I like to paint in a lively bold and fluid way, yes I can do the same thing with oils and acrylics but with watercolour and with using water you can cover a large area with one stroke and its here that you can achieve the fluidity that I love.
His favourite subject at the moment is horse racing and his paintings and these are very popular throughout Yorkshire and beyond and he says I must be one of the best selling artists this last few years as he has sold absolutely hundreds of them. Below is a summary of where he exhibits his paintings, the awards etc he has received since 2012.
